Audition Requirements for a Graduate Award in Studio Accompanying

Through its Graduate Award program, the Eastman School of Music provides financial support for graduate students who are especially skilled as accompanists. All Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music degree applicants are automatically considered for this graduate award.  However, skilled accompanists with previous studio accompanying experience, excellent sight-reading skills, and score reading ability whose major is other than Piano Accompanying may also apply by following the directions below:

Please note that applying for this award requires an on-campus audition.  All applicants must both indicate their interest in being considered for this graduate award and submit their repertoire selections within their Eastman School of Music online application. A collaborative audition will be scheduled on the same day as the applicant’s audition/interview for their intended primary major. Appropriate collaborative artists, both singer and instrumentalists, will be provided by the school.  Repertoire changes cannot be accommodated; therefore, please make your repertoire selections carefully.

Applicants for this award must be prepared to perform the following:

1. The 1st movement (or selections as indicated) of an instrumental sonata, selected from the Repertoire List, Group A, and performed with music. Accompanying Audition Repertoire List

2. One song, selected from the Repertoire List, Group B, prepared in the indicated key, and performed with music.  Accompanying Audition Repertoire List
